CANCELLED - Sexuality and Spirituality: Embracing the Other: What's Spiritual about Sex and Sexual Identity?

Stanford undergrad and grad students only. How do we reconcile our sexual orientations, desires and practices with the spiritual traditions in which we were brought up? What if those traditions explicitly condemn aspects of our sexualities? How is the encounter with people radically different from us--and parts of ourselves radically at odds with our identities--central to both sexual and spiritual experience? Join Asst. Dean of Students and LGBT Community Resources Center Director Ben Davidson for a facilitated discussion drawing on the work of French feminist theorist and critic Julia Kristeva. Dinner served.

These small group discussions provide a safe and supportive environment for students to meet with religious leaders, LGBT leaders and others, to discuss various issues of sexuality and identity in relation to spirituality and religion.

The Deans for Religious Life are committed to welcoming students of all genders and sexual orientations,

all religious and non-religious traditions, and all cultural backgrounds.
