"Homer, Hank & the American Dream: Social & Political Satire on American Television," a Conversation with Writers for "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons."

The Program in American Studies, Stanford University, presents "Homer, Hank & the American Dream: Social & Political Satire on American Television," a Conversation with Writers for "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons." An opportunity to discuss the limits and potential of social and political satire with John Collier, Greg Daniels and Paul Lieberstein, three veteran writers for "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill," two enormously popular animated series that blend humor, satire and social criticism in distinctive and memorable ways. In preparation for this event, there will be screenings of episodes written by these three writers in Junipero House, Wilbur Hall, on Sunday, Nov. 2nd and Monday, Nov. 3rd from 6 to 7:30pm, and in the Main Lounge of Florence Moore Hall, on Tuesday, Nov. 4th and Wednesday, Nov. 5th from 8 to 9:30pm.
