Media X Lecture Series: Neerja Raman, “Creativity 2.0: Contrasts Between Multimedia and Language”

With globalization, the English language has emerged as a vehicle of economic gain at the expense of courtesy, culture and creativity.

In this seminar we explore how multimedia tools can be used to offset the limitations of text to promote creativity and build collaborative, multicultural high impact teams.


Neerja Raman is a recognized author and award winning executive in technology research management. She is Senior Research Fellow at Stanford University since 2006 and a Media X Distinguished Visiting Scholar. Neerja is former Director, Strategic Planning and Imaging Systems Lab, Hewlett Packard Labs and is on the advisory committee for Cyber-Infrastructure, National Science Foundation. She was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame in 2005 for global leadership. Neerja's book, “The Practice and Philosophy of Decision Making” was featured in the category “Books that Empower Women” by WITI.
