Staging performances of classic and contemporary fiction by performing every word of an author's text, Word for Word Performing Arts Company presents a staged reading of "Sonny's Blues," a story of brotherhood from the great American storyteller James Baldwin. The original musical score is composed by the highly regarded, Bay Area based bassist/composer Marcus Shelby, who also concludes the evening in a live performance with his quartet.
