Messiaen Centenary

Musicians from the Stanford faculty community and beyond honor the centenary of major 20th-century French composer Olivier Messiaen with repertoire that provides a Technicolor window into Messiaen's oeuvre and spiritual life. The series opens with the one of the composer's seminal works, Quartet for the End of Time, performed by members of the St. Lawrence String Quartet joined by special guests. The program also features Stanford University organist Robert Huw Morgan in selected organ works by Messiaen.
