The following series of events have been organized for members of the Stanford Community to join us in commemorating World AIDS Day. Come learn about current HIV/AIDS issues, participate in awareness activities, and remember those whose lives have been affected by the disease.
Get Informed and Get Involved:
White Plaza, 11am-3pm.
A number of Stanford student groups will have information on HIV/AIDS awareness activities and ways for you to get involved what they are doing to raise awareness and help those affected by the disease. Performances by Jam Pac'd and The Cardinal Whirlwinds (between 12 and 1pm). Red Ribbons will be distributed. Stop by at any time during the 4-hour period.
Advances in HIV/AIDS Research and Treatment:
Tresidder Oak West, 5:30-7pm.
Featuring Dr. Phillip Pizzo, Dean of Stanford Medical School, and Dr. Andrew Zolopa, Director of the Postive Care Program.
Dr. Pizzo and Dr. Zolopa will discuss their interests and professional work related to HIV/AIDS in the pediatric and adult patient populations, respectively.
Remember: Candlelight Vigil: Old Union Courtyard, 7-8pm.
Honor and remember those affected by HIV/AIDS. Performances by Talisman, Testimony, and the Spoken Word Collective. Keynote Address by Stanford student and HIV/AIDS Activist Thaala Montsi. Hot chocolate will be served.

Still have questions about HIV/AIDS? Want to discuss the issues with your peers? Peer Health Educators, Sexual Health Peer Resource Center counselors, and Students for International Change members will facilitate interactive and enlightening activities and answer any questions students may have.
