Memory Games and Preventing Alzheimer's Disease

Dr. Ashford is a graduate of UC Berkeley, with his MD and PhD in Neuroscience, and psychiatry training from UCLA. He has held numerous academic positions and has studied Alzheimer?s disease since 1978, contributing many advances. Dr. Ashford will discuss Alzheimer's disease, how to recognize it, what it does to the brain and memory, and current research projects at Stanford and around the world that are developing ways to treat and prevent this disease. He will demonstrate a memory screening game, MemTrax, that gives a general idea of memory function. Individuals with memory problems are encouraged to attend and play the MemTrax game.
