In conversation with Michael Gluzman,

Professor and Chair of Comparative Literature, Tel Aviv University

David Grossman was born in Jerusalem. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Theater at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He has published 6 novels in Israel. Several have become widely acclaimed bestsellers. All were published in English by Farrar, Straus and Giroux and have been translated throughout the world. Mr. Grossman has also published a collection of short stories, a play and 12 books for children. Mr. Grossman's book "Sleeping on a Wire: Conversations with Palestinians in Israel" brings into the open the perilous balancing act of the "Arabs of 1948," those Palestinians who live as citizens within Israel's borders.
