Dining Room, Home, Tomb, Decaying Hole and Empty Room

Directed by Ileana Drinovan.

Set outdoors at the steps of the Stanford Mausoleum, "Dining Room, Home, Tomb, Decaying Hole and Empty Room," Stanford Drama's second performance project inspired by T.S. Eliot's 1922 poem, "The Waste Land," is a grueling and terrifying look at the "waste land" of evil that can develop within us.

This piece is an original arrangement that artfully combines Eliot's poetry and Seneca's dramatic works, "Thyestes" and "Agamemnon."

Beginning at dusk (5:30 PM), "Dining Room, Home, Tomb, Decaying Hole and Empty Room" progresses toward its dark conclusion as the daylight, too, fades into night.

Each performance will be preceded by complimentary coffee and tea at 5:00 PM. Please dress for the weather.

Note on the location: The Stanford Mausoleum was built in the late nineteenth century. It holds the remains of Leland Stanford, Jr. and his parents Leland and Jane Stanford.
