Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra's "Sinfonia" Season First Concert

The concert features a winner of PACO's concerto competition, Cindy Chang, performing Mozart's dramatic Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K. 491. Yasushi Akutagawa's 1953 "Triptyque for String Orchestra" is an exciting and virtuosic piece, being performed for the very first time in a PACO concert. The program will end with Benjamin Britten's masterful, but deceptively titled, "Simple Symphony". Masterworks of the chamber music repertoire will also be included on the program, performed by small ensembles comprised of Sinfonia members. The concert, to be conducted by PACO Music Director Benjamin Simon, will take place at 8:00 p.m. at Cubberley Theater, Palo Alto.
