To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Shotokan Karate of America's (SKA) presence in the bay area as well as 28 year history of Stanford Shotokan Karate club's presence on Stanford campus, Tsutomu Ohshima, the distinguished martial artist and founder of SKA will be leading two practices karate, November 8th from 2-4pm and November 9th from 10a-12p.
Mr. Ohshima has over 60 years of experience practicing karate. An original student of Gichin Funakoshi, founder of the Shotokan style, he brought Shotokan karate to the United States over 50 years ago by founding the first University karate club which turned out to be the initial seed of what is now an international association in 16 different countries. Mr. Ohshima has also been featured in numerous martial arts magazines and given keynote addresses in Japan and the United States but he is first of all a gifted teacher and an exceptional example. Do not miss this unique opportunity to practice with him!
