Santos, one of the foremost Afro-Latin percussionists of the day, is known for his innovative use of traditional forms. Also recognized as a leading jazz educator, Santos is a prolific writer and historian, and has worked with Cal Tjader, Linda Tillery, Jon Jang, Carlos Santana, and others.
