Elaine Pagels to give Harry Camp Memorial Lecture

Princeton University Religious Historian Elaine Pagels will deliver the second lecture in the Camp Memorial lecture series. Her lecture entitled "Politics & Religion: How and When Do They Begin to Separate?" discusses her work in progress.

The first lecture is Monday, January 26 at 5 p.m. in Cubberley Auditorium of the School of Education. She will lead two lecture discussions at the Stanford Humanities Center on Tuesday the 27th and Thursday the 29th at 4 p.m.

Pagels, a Stanford alum, is currently the Harrington Spear Paine Foundation Professor of Religion at Princeton, where she has taught since 1982. The author of many wide-ranging essays, her books include the bestseller "The Gnostic Gospels," "The Origin of Satan," and most recently "Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas."
