Novelist and biographer Geoffrey Wolff will read from his work. Geoffrey Wolff is the author of four works of nonfiction:The Art of Burning Bridges: A Life of John O'Hara; Black Sun, The Duke of Deception, a memoir; and A Day at the Beach, a collection of personal essays as well as six novels, most recently The Age of Consent. In 1994 he received the Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Mr. Wolff is the director of the graduate fiction program at the University of California, Irvine. Geoffrey Wolff will be introduced by his brother, Tobias Wolff, the Ward W. and Priscilla B. Woods Professor in Humanities. Tobias Wolff is the author of acclaimed memoirs, including This Boy's Life and In Pharoah's Army,short stories, and the novel Old School. This event is sponsored by the Creative Writing Program.
