On January 14, 2004, President Bush unveiled a bold new vision for space exploration for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The intent of this vision is to improve life for mankind and lift the spirit of our nation. Rex D. Geveden, Deputy Director of NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center, will be discussing the key elements and implications of the President's new space policy. Specifically, Mr. Geveden will be speaking on exploration requirements, science opportunities, budget strategy, and
milestones to implement this exciting vision.
Rex Geveden has received many awards since joining NASA in 1990 where he has managed and led project teams. In 2003 he was appointed the Deputy Director of MSFC to assist in managing one of NASA's largest field installations (6500+ civil and contract employees/$2.3 billion annual budget). He had managed the Microgravity Science and Applications department at Marshall, was Program Manager for Gravity Probe B, and was the Deputy Director of the Science Directorate at Marshall. He is extending his engineering and physics in his doctoral studies in Materials Engineering at Auburn University, AL.
