Robert Jensen Following the Flag: The Failures of the U.S. Media in the Iraq War and What We Can Do About It

Robert Jensen, Professor of Journalism at the University of Texas and author of Writing Dissent and the forthcoming Citizens of Empire will speak on the failures of the U.S. Media in the Iraq War and what we can do about them. When a country is preparing to go to war, a critical, independent news media is more crucial than ever in a democracy. Unfortunately, that is typically when journalists abandon that role. In the run-up to the Iraq war and during the war itself, that failure was particularly profound.
