Until recently, progress in understanding the biological basis of nervous system functions has been hampered by its very complexity. New technologies, basic science discoveries, and insights into the genetics of disease have changed this dramatically. Research is now taking place that is leading to more accurate diagnosis, more effective treatments, and the possibility of preventing or curing diverse disorders of the nervous system.
This special event will feature break-out groups with some of Stanford?s key neurologists and neuroscientists, who will discuss recent breakthroughs in the understanding of neurological disorders and promising innovations in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. You will have the opportunity to hear these experts in two separate sessions:
SESSION I
Brain Function and Decision Making, Chronic Pain, Depression, Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders, Sleep Disorders
SESSION II
Applied Stem Cell Therapies, Brain Tumors, The Genetics of Aging, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke
A light supper will be served.
Event fee is $25 per person.
Please respond by Monday, March 1.
