SCN presents a double bill at the CoHo this Thursday, with The Edison Show and Holden.
Music without boundaries or barriers, this is the intensity that brought The Edison Show together to initiate a style that knows no limits. The group is the culmination of ideas and influences, and their music crosses over RnB, Rock and Funk. The result is a live show no short of a unique and untouched musical environment, characterized by hook-laden choruses and a danceable atmosphere.
Having arrived to Houston from places all over the country, the founding members of The Edison Show met during the summer of 2003. After only 6 short months, their impressive debut EP As Famous As We Want To Be is a testimonial to the inventive passion that showcases skilled musicians backing a soulful voice. Their energetic live shows call to mind Maroon Five, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Third Eye Blind.
Holden is everyoneýs favorite teen angst hero from J.D. Salingerýs legendary book, but Holden is also soon to be everyoneýs favorite bipolar band. Known for their ýnever take ourselves too seriously attitude,ý coupled with thoughtful and mature lyrics on life seen through all-too-familiar teenage eyes, Holden have formed a loyal fanbase thatýs winning more people all over the country. With a nation wide college campus tour, two music videos, and a new line of "Holden" clothing to support their second release, "Selling to Miners", the band is determined to spread their name and increase their fame.
