BASES Interact: VC Office Hours with Hummer Winblad Venture Partners

Have you ever wished you could have just 15 minutes with a Venture Capitalist to ask questions about being an entrepreneur or starting a business? Well now you can. Venture Capitalists from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners will be on campus Friday, March 5th to meet with you for VC Office Hours. 15 minute time slots will be available from 2:00-5:00pm and the office hours will be held in Wallenberg Hall. Prashant Shah is a Principal of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. His background includes vast experience defining and launching high-tech products into new markets. Prior to joining Hummer Winblad, Prashant was the Group Product Manager at Entrust Technologies where he oversaw software for authentication and authorization. His experience also includes positions at Cypress Semiconductor where he managed a line of specialty RAM, and AT&T where he held a variety of roles in sales, operations management and product management. Prashant received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Hank Barry is a partner at Hummer Winblad. He joined the firm in July 1999. Prior to joining Hummer Winblad, Hank was a partner with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a leading Silicon Valley technology law firm, where he led the firm's interactive new media practice. At WSGR, Hank was principal outside counsel to several pioneering Internet companies, including Global Village Communications, Looksmart, Liquid Audio and NetDynamics. From May 2000 through July 2001 Hank served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Napster, Inc.

Hank holds a B.A. degree in economics with highest distinction from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from Stanford Law School, where he was managing editor of the Stanford Law Review. He currently serves on the Boards of several nonprofit organizations, and is a member of the Board of Visitors of Stanford Law School. He is on the Board of Sensoria Corporation.
