SLAC Public Lecture Series: Synchrotron Radiation

Don't miss "Synchrotron Radiation: The Light Fantastic!" This next talk in the SLAC Public Lecture Series will show what happens when scientists get their hands on an x-ray source that is one million times more intense than anything they have used before. Presented by Herman Winick, Assistant Director and Professor Emeritus at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, this lecture will explain the revolution that has resulted from use of x-rays produced by high energy electron accelerators at SLAC and 50 other laboratories around the world.

The SLAC Public Lecture Series is a recurring lecture program aimed at the local non-scientific community. These talks explore the research, the facilities, and the people that make SLAC a world-class research institute. After the talk stick around for refreshments and the chance to chat with physicists.
