Markle Task Force: "Creating a Trusted Information Network for Homeland Security"

The Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age, in conjunction with Stanford Law School, will hold a briefing and panel discussion on its latest report, "Creating a Trusted Information Network for Homeland Security." In the report, the Task Force addresses the key actions needed to create an information network that will increase our nation's security while preserving our fundamental rights and civil liberties.Task Force members -- including some of the nation's leading experts on information technology, national security, and privacy -- will discuss their findings and recommendations with Silicon Valley's technology community. The briefing will include an interactive presentation of the SHARE Network, a computer network proposed by the Task Force to share information about counter-terrorist efforts among federal, state, and local government agencies as well as the private sector. The event is open to the press.
