Arguably the most contentious issue between the United States and China, the question of Taiwan remains a critical factor in the stability of U.S.-China relations. This panel will analyze the implications of Taiwan?s 2004 Presidential elections, the accelerating economic integration across the Strait, and the rising trends of Taiwanization and democratization on strategic relations between the United States, China, and Taiwan.
