Jayna Brown is Assistant professor of Ethnic Studies at UC Riverside and currently a Rockefeller fellow at the Stanford Humanities Center, Dr. Brown received her Ph.D. in African American Studies from Yale University. Her focus is black literature and her research specialization black performance and the body. Brown has taught courses on science fiction. For this talk she will analyze the anatomies of race and geopolitics of conquest in The Island of Dr. Moreau, Brave New World and other classic sci fi texts.
