Eighteenth Annual Ernesto Galarza Commemorative Lecture

The eighteenth Annual Ernesto Galarza Commemorative Lecture will feature Luis Valdez, founder and artistic director of El Teatro Campesino in San Juan Batista. Open to the public.

The Lecture is followed by The Third Annual Stanford Chicano & Latino Community Awards Banquet is presented by Chicana/o Studies Program, Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, El Centro Chicano and the Stanford Alumni Association. Student, Alumni, Staff and Faculty Awards are presented at the Banquet.

Schedule

4:15 pm -- Lecture begins, followed by a reception with performances by El Mariachi Cardenal, El Ballet Folklorico de Stanford, and L@s Salser@s de Stanford.

6:00 pm -- Awards Banquet with Special Recognition to Renato I. Rosaldo, Jr. , Lucie Stern Professor in the Social Sciences, Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology.
