Kim Nalley

Blues and R&B singer Kim Nalley is swinging, sassy and lots of fun. She sings with a beautiful clarity and depth of expression that invests every lyric, from the raunchiest double entendre to the saddest lament, with an electrifying immediacy. A truly versatile vocalist with formal opera training and a list of influences from Marian Anderson to Dinah Washington to Beyonce, Nalley moved to San Francisco in 1991 and was soon dazzling Bay Area jazz fans, performing with everyone from the San Francisco Symphony to Jimmy McGriff. In 2003, after a year in Switzerland, Nalley became a local hero when she returned home and, with her fiancé, Steve Sheraton, reopened beloved San Francisco nightclub Jazz at Pearl's.
