When, in 1958, drummer Jimmy Cobb joined Miles Davis' group in time to perform on the landmark album, Kind of Blue, his place in jazz history was secured. But even before Cobb's five years with Miles, he'd already played with Cannonball Adderley and Dizzy Gillespie. He's a dynamic, driving hard bop master, but with a distinctive, subtle touch. Cobb will be performing with guitarist Peter Bernstein and bassist John Webber, both of his current quartet, Cobb's Mob, and with pianist Harold Mabern. As Bernstein puts it, "When you play with [Cobb], you feel this force underneath you, like a wave."
