Lecture & Dinner: "The Island of Brazil: From Fantastic to Futuristic." - Brazilian Week 2004

By Charles A. Perrone, U. of Florida, Visiting Professor Spring 2004 and Alessandra Squina Santos, UCLA.

A multi-media presentation and lecture examining notions of "Brazil" in the European/North American imaginary through the centuries, as well as contemporary artistic responses to a sense of "isolation." Special attention to the work of rock icon and visual artist Arnaldo Antunes.

Brazilian Food will be served after the lecture for the participants.
