The New Yorker magazine Editor David Remnick on "The Press Since September 11"

David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker magazine, will deliver the annual John S. Knight Lecture on the performance of the news media since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Remnick joined the New Yorker as a staff writer in 1992, after 10 years at the Washington Post. Among his journalistic accomplishments, he was awarded the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction for his book "Lenin's Tomb," about the former Soviet Union. The day following his lecture, Remnick will take part in a discussion of the issues raised in his talk. That event will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18 in the Schwab Center. Remnick will be joined by Joann Byrd, former ombudsman of the Washington Post, David Kennedy, Stanford professor of history and David Talbot, founder of Salon.com. Raul Ramirez, news and public affairs director of KQED-FM in San Francisco will moderate the discussion.
