Bay Area Photographer's Collective - Neighborhood Project

The Bay Area Photographer's Collective presents a juried exhibition of work by twelve members. The opening reception is scheduled for 5 to 8 pm on June 5.

Photographs in the show are from a body of work members produced for BAPC's Neighborhood Project which evolved out of Collective members' desire to explore a single yet complex theme that would both inspire and tap members' varied talents, particular styles, techniques and visions. The group was intrigued with the topic because each neighborhood has its own aesthetics, politics, culture and ethnic character. The results of the project are diverse and compelling, presenting concepts of neighborhood from the literal and historical to the metaphorical. With members living in the Bay Area, the group has created a visual testimony of the region's cities and neighborhoods
