“The most lyrical piano player of our time.” — Jazz Weekly
Pianist Kenny Barron is, as the Los Angeles Times puts it, “One of the top jazz pianists in the world.” As a leader, composer, or a sideman, he’s been associated with nearly every name in jazz, including legends such as Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz, rising stars like Gretchen Parlato, and the renowned Thelonious Monk tribute band, Sphere. He’s a classic jazz player, with a lyrical, melodic approach to soloing and a deep sense of swing. Joining Kenny onstage will be trumpet master Terell Stafford and longtime SJW faculty and alumnus Dayna Stephens.
