WORKSHOP ON SMART ANTENNAS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS to honor the contributions of Professor A. Paulraj on the occasion of his 60th birthday

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 2004 Smart Antennas in Wireless Communications Workshop.

The remarkable development of multiple antenna communications technology has been significantly influenced by Professor Arogyaswami Paulraj's pioneering contributions to the area. His talent in advancing the theory into practice is unique, and he has not only defined the starting point but helped to shape and guide this fast progressing field to the point where it is now being incorporated into several worldwide wireless standards. The 2004 Smart Antennas Workshop serves to honor the numerous contributions of Professor Paulraj to this field on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

Over the past decade the Smart Antennas Workshops served as an annual event for the research community to share recent results, experimental data and to discuss future directions in multiple antenna wireless communications. This year the technical program consists of 18 presentations. We are very excited to have attracted many of the world's top researchers and engineers to this event, including, several of Prof. Paulraj's past students and collaborators.
