One of the nation's most influential technology reporters, John Markoff joined The New York Times in March 1988 as a reporter for Business Day. He writes about computers and technology issues and is based in San Francisco as West Coast Correspondent. His talk is based on material from his forthcoming book on the history and culture of Silicon Valley.
