From her early broadcasts on Radio Kaboul, Ustad Farida Mahwash has risen to unanimous acclaim as the greatest female singer of Afghanistan. Joining Mahwash are masters of traditional Afghani instruments, including, Aziz Herawi, rubâb, sitar, Khalil Ragheb, harmonium, vocals, Ahsan Ahmadi, tabla, and Henri Tournier, flute. Honoring the beauty and diversity of Aghanistan's rich culture, their passionate performances feature Mahwash's hypnotic layered melodies with Tajik minstrels, ecstatic festival songs, classical ragas, and brilliant instrumental pieces.

Note: The accompaniment of Ensemble Kaboul was cancelled due to visa problems.
