Prazak Quartet

"Luminous and opulent...the members perform rhapsodically and flamboyantly but in absolutely effortless synchronicity with one another..."

-- Philadelphia Inquirer

Known for "melt in your seat" gorgeous music, the Prazak Quartet conveys the richness of classic Central European quartets. Their performances are saturated with impassioned authenticity and are emotionally dramatic, musically bracing, and deeply affecting. Their program honors themes of homeland, independence, and folklore by composers from their native Czech Republic--Dvorak, Janacek, and Smetana. Vaclav Remes, violin; Vlastimil Holek, violin; Josef Kluson, viola; Michal Kanka, cello.

PROGRAM

Antonin Dvorak: Cypresses for String Quartet and String Quartet in F Major, op. 96 (American); Leos Janacek: String Quartet No. 2 (Intimate Letters); Bedrich Smetana: String Quartet No. 2 in D Minor
