Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble with Ray Vega

Special guest Latin jazz trumpeter Ray Vega joins the Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Murray Low. An established innovator of jazz and Latin music, Mr. Vega was the lead trumpet player for Latin giants Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, and Mario Bauza, and a jazz trumpeter with the Duke Ellington and Vanguard Jazz orchestras, as well as classical composer Osvaldo Golijov. Mr. Vega has arranged several pieces specifically for this performance with the Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble.
