Award-Winning Teachers on Teaching, Professor Eric Roberts, "Encouraging Top Students in Large Classes"

In most large introductory classes, students arrive with a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. One of the well-known challenges of teaching such courses is providing support to students who are struggling with the material. However, it is often just as important to find challenges for students at the high end of the distribution. In this talk, Professor Roberts will discuss some of the strategies he uses to encourage highly motivated students to go beyond the standard expectations of the class.
