Andy Milne and New Friends

Working with Steve Coleman as part of the Five Elements band, pianist Andy Milne developed a radical rhythmic and harmonic approach to the instrument that breathes new life into songs from all sources: Dizzy, Monk, Sting, or even those of Andy’s fellow Canadians Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. Mixing this with his mastery of the style of his mentor Oscar Peterson and his influences Herbie Hancock and McCoy Tyner, Andy will take you into some wonderful new jazz territory. Performing with Andy is GRAMMY®-nominated percussionist Tupac Mantilla. A true citizen of World Music, Tupac’s collaborators range from Zakir Hussain, Danilo Peréz, and John Medeski to the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra.  Tupac and Andy share a deep commitment to boldly going where few have gone before—and grooving all the way.
