BASES is one of the largest student-run entrepreneurship organizations in the United States. BASES was founded in 1996 by a group of five Stanford University engineering students, who looked to gain top-notch business advice and expertise from leaders in the high-tech world, including prominent CEOs, technologists, and venture capitalists.
Chartered with the mission of cultivating the next-generation of entrepreneurs, BASES has evolved into a diverse organization that includes undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members from all schools at Stanford, including Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine, and Humanities & Sciences. BASES strengthens entrepreneurial collaboration at Stanford by working with a variety of student groups across campus.
In recent years, BASES has helped create a number of innovative and successful companies including LightBit, Ingenuity, della.com, Gigabeat, Message Bay, Pandao, Penguin Computing, T-RAM, Scalable Life, Xagros, Epitrope, and Voltage Security.
