In developing multi-cellular organisms, individual cells interact with each other and use various epigenetic mechanisms to differentiate into tissues and organs. There are important similarities but also differences in growth control of Plants and Animals, and understanding these mechanisms is important for regeneration as well as cancer. In this symposium, speakers representing the different Kingdoms of multi-cellular life, will discuss and compare the various ways of growth control.
