Dance Marathon is a philanthropy event in which the participants pledge to party for 24 hours in the name of a cause. At the event, there will be music, student group performances, costumes, food, and more. Stanford has chosen HIV/AIDS as our cause this year, and all the money we raise will be going to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Dance Marathon is the most successful student philanthropy in the nation. Northwestern regularly raises $500,000, and Penn State raised over $3 million last year alone. Dance Marathon is now at over 100 schools in the nation and we are bring it to Stanford!
Dance Marathon combines fun and education and fundraising. It is a crazy, intense, unique, and most importantly, meaningful experience - you will remember it for years.
