This panel-style forum will look at what it takes to build a company in the complex space at the interface of biotech and nanotech, with a special focus on how a small start-up team can successfully bring new technologies out of the lab and into the commercial market. Presented by MIT/Stanford Venture Laboratory (VLAB) and the MIT-Stanford-Berkeley Nanotechnology Forum, speakers include Gajus Worthington, Fluidigm; Craig Taylor, Alloy Ventures; Michael Knapp, Cambrios Technologies, Robert Molinari, MedStars Biotech; and Ronald Newbold, Strategic Research Initiatives. The participants have been chosen for their experience in both life sciences and nanotechnology, and with the convoluted process of transforming academic research breakthroughs into market leading products. Together, they will bring a range of informed and challenging of perspectives to bear on the question of how to create a successful business in this complex space.
