"An Academic and Otherwise Life, an N=1"

This colloquium is entitled "An Academic and Otherwise Life, an N=1" with Yale Professor Edward Tufte. Tufte is a leading authority on the design of visual data displays. In his academic career he was a world-renowned political scientist, who transformed himself mid-career into a graphic design expert. During this colloquium for Stanford students and faculty, Tufte will describe the progress of his life and career through its many fascinating stages.

The location for the colloquium is the Lucas Conference Center at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, near the corner of Galvez and Serra Streets.

That evening Professor Tufte will give a public lecture at the McCaw Hall on campus, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
