The Human Brain: A Year-Long Series

This year, Continuing Studies highlights outstanding Stanford faculty affiliated with the Stanford Brain Research Institute, a world leader in multidisciplinary research on the brain, and with the Stanford Medical School. Each quarter we focus on one aspect of research on the human brain. In the fall, we heard from psychologists and educators about brain development and brain-related disease; this winter the focus is on the brain and sleep; and in the spring we will look at the brain and psychological conditions.

Winter Quarter

The Human Brain & Sleep

Nationally and internationally-known Stanford scholars in sleep research are conducting exciting work that expands the frontiers of current knowledge on the nature of sleep in humans. Their work ranges from research on REM sleep and circadian rhythms to work on sleep disorders such as insomnia, narcolepsy, and sleep apnea. Join Continuing Studies as we spend a Saturday afternoon with three outstanding thinkers on the brain as they describe their current work.
