I'm Walkin' for My Freedom: The Selma March, a 40th Anniversary Retrospective. Photographs by Matt Herron.

As part of its 2005 celebration of the King Holiday and legacy, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project is sponsoring a photographic retrospective commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March for Voting Rights. Images by noted civil rights photographer Matt Herron chronicle the March, which attracted 25,000 black and white Americans from all over the country and every walk of life and led directly to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The exhibit will be on display throughout the months of January and February. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 6:00 pm in the Tresidder Union 2nd Floor lounge.
