BASES Social E-Challenge Workshop: The Life of a Social Entrepreneur

Want to Save the Planet? Do you have Ideas for

Social/Environmental Development? Interested in learning more about

Social Entrepreneurship? Or would you simply just like to take part in

the BASES Social E-Challenge Competition?

Come attend the first BASES Social E-Challenge Workshop - "The Life

of a Social Entrepreneur" - which will be followed by a Team-Mixer.

The workshop will consist of a panel discussion where three

individuals who have made significant contributions to social or

environmental

entrepreneurship will be giving six to eight minute speeches about

their visions, ambitions, and passions for social or environmental

innovations, followed by a Q&A session. Our panelists for this session

are,

1)Ben Mangen, the winner of 2005 Fast Company Social Capitalist Award

and the Executive Director of EARN (http://www.sfearn.org/index.htm),

2)Elliott Brown, the winner of the 2004 Ashoka Fellowship and the

2005 Fast Company Social Capitalist Award, and the founder of

Springboard Forward (http://www.springboardforward.org/), featured in

the January 11th Stanford Daily Innovation section, and

3)Srihara Yamanoor, a member of E-Immunization, the team that won

last year's Social E-challenge.

Following that, come attend the BASES Social E-Challenge Mixer. Bring

your ideas/posters/materials if you have any, or just bring yourself.

Mingle with other like-minded people, recruit people to join your team or form teams with other people who have ideas.

Meet new people. Have fun! Food and Drinks will be served.
