The Multiracial Identified Community at Stanford (MICS, pronounced "mix") would like to announce its upcoming conference for West Coast multiracial student groups and interested Stanford students to be held on Saturday, February 5th at Stanford University. As a student-run organization on campus, MICS works to educate and create a dialogue amongst all members of the Stanford community about mixed-race issues.
Our mission: MICS strives to create an inclusive community for those who identify as multiracial and/or as trans-racially adopted in order to bring awareness to issues concerning those of mixed background. In solidarity with ethnic, racial, women's, and queer communities, MICS aims to provide a forum for dialogue on intersecting identities and issues of marginalized groups. As an anti-racist organization, MICS is dedicated to promoting social justice.
Our summit, "Exploring the Multiracial Student Movement," will feature workshops, speaker presentations, and strategy sessions offered by everyday students and young alumni involved in the mixed-race student community. Please join us in our efforts to educate others on multiracial issues and to create space for discussion and dialogue among students involved in mixed-race activism by attending our summit!
