ENCOUNTER:MERCE Works on Film: "Points in Space"

A Film Series at the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts ~ Cunningham was one of the first choreographers to create original dance specifically for film, exploiting the unique way in which space can be used in film and television as compared to the stage. The series includes the films: "CRWDSPCR" (1996), "Beach Birds for Camera" (1993), "Points in Space" (1986), and the world premiere of "Views for Video" (2005) , his latest collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Charles Atlas.

This is event is part of Encounter:Merce, Stanford's campus-wide interdisciplinary exploration through the arts, focusing on the life and art of Merce Cunningham, legendary choreographer, dance innovator, and artistic thinker.
