"Innovations in Improving Access to Health Care": Annual International Development Conference

The purpose of the SAID annual conference is to promote innovative approaches to development and inspire student interest in the field. This year's conference will explore the medical and technological innovations and delivery and funding strategies that are impacting access to health care in developing countries. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Debrework Zewdie, director of the Global HIV/AIDS Program at the World Bank. Other panelists will include Ophelia Dahl from Partners in Health, William McGreevey from The Futures Group, George Rutherford of the UCSF Institute for Global Health, and representatives from The Gates Foundation, Save the Children, One World Health, among others. The conference will feature an opportunities fair with representatives from NGOs and other international health and development-related organizations. At the end of the conference, featured Stanford students will share their volunteer work, research and jobs/internships in the area of international development.
