This event celebrates the 30th anniversary of Casa Zapata, and the traditions and history of Stanford University's Chicano/Latino Ethnic Theme Dormitory. One of the most important Zapata traditions is the collection of colorful, thought-provoking, and culturally significant murals that have been created over the years. This year, students have created a new addition to this collection, with images centered around the theme of "familia" (family). We mark Casa Zapata's 30th anniversary by reviving this tradition, and by acknowledging the special feeling of "familia" this dorm creates for all who live here, and for all members of the Chicano/Latino community who have created and shared many rich and unforgettable experiences in Casa Zapata.
