Peter, Paul and Mary headline Summer Symphony 2003

Legendary folk group Peter, Paul and Mary will headline Summer Symphony 2003, an annual benefit for the Children's Health Council. The concert will be held at Frost Amphitheater and will begin at 6 p.m. July 20 with an opening performance by Symphony San Jose Silicon Valley. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for picnicking and pre-concert jazz entertainment.

All proceeds from Summer Symphony will go toward a goal of $500,000 to allow the council to serve Bay Area children struggling with behavioral and developmental challenges. Last year's concert raised over $475,000 for children and families in need. Founded in 1953 by Dr. Esther B. Clark, the first Palo Alto pediatrician, the council's mission is to make a measurable difference in the lives of children who face complex behavioral and developmental challenges through interdisciplinary assessment and treatment services.

Ticket prices are $70 for chair seating ($20 tax-deductible) and $45 for lawn seating; $20 for children 11 and under. All individual tickets are for general admission seating.

Call the council directly at 617-3859 for information about tickets and sponsorship packages. Online ticket ordering also is available at www.summersymphony.org.
